Payment and Insurance

Payment:

Payment is expected at time of service.

If you have insurance benefits, you will be expected to make a payment for the estimated portion not covered by your insurance plan.

We offer these payment options:

Cash
Personal Check
Credit Card - We accept MasterCard, Visa, Discover, and American Express.

Insurance:

Dental insurance is intended to cover some, but not all of the cost of your dental care. Most plans include coinsurance provisions, a deductible, and certain other expenses, that must be paid by the patient at the time of services.

Dr. Sexton is double-boarded as both a Pedodontist (children's dentist) and an Orthodontist (braces for children and adults.) We recommend you understand how your insurance pays with regard to each of these specialties. We are not listed as a "general dentist" with insurance carriers.

Our office will file insurance for both "in network" and "out of network" plans, as long as your plan allows you to go "out of network".

The City of Tallahassee changed the "Pedodontic" benefits starting in 2010. Children 7 years old and older will receive a 25% discount for services rendered. Patient is responsible for 75% of the charges on the day services are rendered.
- The CS25D8 continues to offer excellent coverage for orthodontics (braces) for adults and children.

Compbenefits Preferred Plus #4054 (State of Florida)

PPO (Preferred Provider Organization) for Compbenefits and Humana

Florida Combined PPO groups. This includes Blue Options "dental" and Blue Dental Copayment plans.

We are not a provider for Florida Combine "Federal" employees.

Orthodontics ONLY: (In addition to the plans mentioned above)

Compbenefits (Humana), Select 15 (Plan Code 4044) and all "C" Plans (C150, C250, C550). We offer 25% off our orthodontic fees.

If you do not have any of the plans listed above, we will file for you if you are allowed to go "out of network". Please be aware that if we are considered an "out of network" dentist, your out-of-pocket expense could be more. This is because your insurance may reduce our fees and pass the difference on to you.

We also recommend that you become aware of your benefits for fluoride treatments, x-rays and sealants. Every insurance pays these services at a different frequency.
